Joe Alexander, known as "Rasta Joe" because of his unique "Jamaican Style" pork and chicken, has been barbecuing as a sideline for over 25 years. Rasta Joe has turned his barbecuing interest into an award-winning Barbecue Business. Joe is considered to be one of the top chefs in the country and has won cooking awards for his ribs and sauces from coast to coast. The accolades and prize money started rolling in after Rasta Joe Perfected his "Jamaican Style" sauce recipe. The recipe's history includes five trips to the Caribbean, where Joe discovered that blending local spices and flavorings, including rum, livened up his special barbecue sauce even more!
Established in 1981, John Willingham opened his 1st restaurant in Memphis, TN. John is the only BBQ Pit Master to have won the Grand Champion award at both the Memphis in May and Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competitions, in the same year. Over nearly 30 years Willingham's BBQ team has earned over 190 top 5 finishes and received more "Grand Champion" awards than any other competitive team in the history of the sport of BBQ.
